God Will Provide a Way Out
Welcome to Beyond Sunday, and thanks for being here for day 21 of anchored in God's promises. Each day this month, we're reminding ourselves of one unshakeable truth from scripture, promises that can carry us through whatever life brings. Today's verse is one of the most practical promises in the entire Bible. It's first Corinthians 10 13 says this, no temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind, and God is faithful. He will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it. The verse begins with a truth that's both sobering and comforting. No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. That means you're not alone in the struggle. Every believer, in every generation has faced temptation. Sometimes the enemy wants you to believe your struggle is unique, that you're the only one dealing with it. But God's word says otherwise, you're not the first to face it. You're not the only one in it, and you are not without help. And here's the foundation. God is faithful. When you're in temptation, it's easy to focus on your weakness, but the power of this promise is that it's not built on your faithfulness. It's built on his. He knows your limits, he knows your tendencies, and he promises not to let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. That's not saying you're strong enough on your own. It's saying his faithfulness will never leave you trapped with no way forward. This is the heart of the promise. When you're tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it. God always makes sure there's an exit. Sometimes it's obvious, literally walking away from a situation. Sometimes it's internal. Shifting your thoughts, praying for strength, or calling someone for accountability. The key is looking for the escape route instead of giving in. Temptation is strong, but God's provision is stronger. There's always a way to stand. I remember a young man who came to me struggling with addiction. He said, it feels like I can't win. I've prayed, but I keep falling. We read this verse together and I asked, what's the way out God might be providing for you that you're not taking? He realized for himself and the issues on his computer, he had never installed filters, never invited accountability, never changed his patterns. In other words. The way out was there, but he wasn't walking through it with support and prayer. He started taking those steps. He began to experience freedom. Sometimes the way out isn't dramatic. It's practical obedience to the door that God has already opened for you. Now, here's your challenge for today. Think of one area where temptation keeps tripping you up in that area. Pray this verse out. Loud, loud. God is faithful. He will provide a way out. God is faithful. He will provide a way out. Then look for it. Maybe it's a friend to call a verse, to meditate on a decision to walk away sooner, or a habit to replace with something healthier. The way out is there. Ask God to help you see it and take it. Let's pray. God thank you that no temptation is stronger than your faithfulness. Thank you for always providing a way out today. Open our eyes to see the exit you've made for us. And give us courage to walk through it. Help us rely not on our own strength, but on yours. In Jesus name we pray. Amen. Hey, thanks for spending a few minutes here on Beyond Sunday. If this episode encourage you, share it with someone who might be battling temptation right now. If you need a way out, reach out, have accountability. Begin to pray these prayers to God. Other people may need this same reminder that God is faithful and he always makes a way. I'll see you here tomorrow.
